Brief and concise biographies are preferred, as these biographies should serve as a quick tool for another member to read up on the basics of your character in less than three minutes.
You are free to take liberties with the history of canon characters. Ultimately, the canon needs to remain recognizable and iconic.
Whatever you want to use as an avatar or character portrait is fine. Face claims aren't tracked, but obviously don't use a picture of the joker for your original character.
